The Cycle Of Hate.

*Trigger warning disclaimer: this is a discussion on mass shootings and although it’s a light post, please skip it if you’re easily triggered.*

I debated on discussing this, but honestly, this page is partially me getting my thoughts out so why not? I’m not a huge politics person or a super activist or anything like that, but I do live in the US and I do see the news sometimes on social media. Anyone with eyes and social media account can see that this world is a mess…a big one. We’ve had so many mass shootings and they just keep going. But why? All because of hate. There are so many hate crimes, so many mass shootings, and so much terrorism in this world. It happens so much that it’s turned into a cycle of hate. I use the term cycle of hate based off of a picture I found on twitter posted below.

mass cycle

I completely agree with this picture. It really is just a cycle and the cycle starts with hate. The question is…what’s being done about it? Absolutely nothing. Is it important to pray for this world? VERY. This world needs as much prayer as it can get. However, it also takes action as well, which is where we’re lacking. Like I said, I’m not a huge political person in the slightest, but you don’t have to be to know that the congress is messing up when it comes to taking action.

Look at where we are. It’s 2019 and there are people even scared to go inside a Walmart. WALMART. A casual place people go just to get the items they need. A place that regular people go to on a daily…just like the movies…just like schools. It’s becoming scarier and scarier just to open your eyes. As easy as it is to live in fear, we can’t. Things need to be done and this cycle needs to be broken.

We need peace. We need change. We need a new cycle.

  1. I agree with you about the cycle of hate. I don’t understand it. I mean, I do- people are mean, hateful creatures- but I don’t know why.
I hate going to Walmart thinking, “Could it happen here? What would we do? How would I protect my kids?” I don’t want to think that when I take my daughter to school or church or to the movies or anywhere else.
I think there are 2 things we can do.
    1) Don’t let it be forgotten. Don’t let the news cycle forget about it. Don’t let our country’s leaders forget about it and don’t let the NRA line their pockets. We must Insist on reform until we get it.
    2) Teach your children not to hate. Teach them violence is wrong. Show them how not to hate. Show them that violence is wrong.

    • I completely agree. Those two things are so important. I hate that this is the world we live in and have to raise children in, but trying our best to teach them from wrong and right and how to control their emotions and anger is the best thing we can do to keep them from being adults who do things like this.

  2. I totally agree with you here Deandra! It’s such a shame that people have been forced to fear for their lives in this way, while doing such normal everyday tasks that you wouldn’t otherwise think twice about doing. I’m so sorry that this is happening so close to home and I’m sending as much love as possible xx
