These past few weeks, I’ve been talking a lot about goals, manifestations, and affirmations. Because of this, I decided to do a review on the affirmation journal Today I Affirm** by Alexandra Elle that I’ve been using for about a year now. It’s so much more than just an affirmation journal and actually helps me resonate on a lot of things I’ve never resonated on before.

While it’s helping me, if after my review it seems like something you need, then I hope it helps you as well.

My Thoughts

On the title, this journal is called “A Journal That Nurtures Self Care” and I believe it does just that. The thing that I love most about this journal are the little prompts. Below are some photos with examples of what they look like.

There are some inspiring quotes from Alexandra herself.

She gets you thinking with these questions that allow you to focus on things that you might’ve never thought about or maybe even try to ignore.

You learn to write your own affirmations.

There is even a section where you write letters to yourself.

Each page has a line at the end that says “Today I Affirm” and like to write an affirmation that’s associated with the prompts I just answered. For example, a prompt could’ve been to list ten things that drain me. When I make my affirmation for the day, it could be something along the lines of “Today I affirm the things that drain me will no longer have a place in my life.” When I’m done writing in my journal, I usually get this freeing feeling out of it, which is a huge bonus!

Rating

If I had to give this journal a rating, then I absolutely will give it a 10/10. You get so much out of it, which makes it worth trying.

Final Thoughts

This was a quick little post I wanted to do because I wanted to show what was helping me with making my affirmations, but also helping me mentally in general. You guys know this if you’re devoted readers, I think self-care and mental health are super important. I’m all for anything that promotes nourishing your mental health. Each month it’s like there’s something new going on, and right now, it’s a battle to get justice and peace for Nigeria with what’s going on with SARS. If you don’t know what’s going on, then please take a quick search. Taking care of your mental health is especially crucial during this time and I encourage you all to do things that help nourish it whether that’s taking soothing baths, seeing your friends, or filling out journals like this one.

Stay safe and remember to take care of yourselves!
