My Spring Morning Routine 2021

Spring is officially in the air! I don’t know about you guys but Spring just makes me feel revived. Let me know in the comments if it does the same for you! If you’ve been following along with my monthly updates, then you know that I’ve been working on my morning routine for a while. I still have a bit to work on and still have some things I need to incorporate, but I finally have somewhat of a routine going. It’s been a long way coming!

Though I still have a little tweaking to do, I decided I’d share it for Spring because…why not? Maybe I can give some of you guys a few ideas if you’re trying to create your own Spring morning routine or just a routine in general!

1. Wake up, stretch, and open blinds

Ok so first, obviously I have to wake up. If I didn’t, I probably wouldn’t be typing this morning routine right now. Once I’m finally up (after snoozing my alarm a few times), I have to get a good morning stretch in, and then I open the blinds to let in the light. I love when natural light is shining through. It just makes me feel so good!

2. Bathroom and breakfast

You already know what comes next, that lovely morning bathroom trip! Sometimes I choose to answer texts and go through social media during this time and I end up in there for 30 minutes or more…anyone else? Once that’s done, I go into the kitchen to make my breakfast and, even more importantly…my coffee. I’ve really gotten into the habit of cooking every morning and I even eat from my marble-designed plate to add some elegance to my breakfast. Also, if you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I do a story every morning of me making my coffee. Shoutout to you if you’re one of the people that look forward to it every morning!

3. Social media engagement time

One thing I like to do while eating is to spend time scrolling through Instagram liking and commenting on other’s posts. It works for me, but my only problem is that I don’t know when to stop. I usually end up taking almost two hours going through Instagram trying to catch up. Insane right!? I’m not really sure how to fix that and it’s a struggle for me to just stop after 30min, so if you have a solution then I’d love to hear it!

4. Mental health moment

I haven’t thought of a proper name for this moment, but for now, I call it my mental health moment. This is the time where I take a moment and head into my office and give my brain a little food. This includes doing my daily Bible study, writing in my affirmation journal, and recently I’ve been working in my goal-setting workbook. I’m learning that it’s important to set some intentions for the day, so I try to start my day off right. Do I end up doing these things EVERY single day? Unfortunately no, but I try to get it in most days.

5. Water plants

This isn’t every single day, but on days that I water or mist my plants, I do so after my mental health moment. All of my plants are in my office, so it makes it easy to just get straight into it! I’m not sure how often others water their plants, but I usually water mines on Mondays and I mist them every other day for the most part. Some plants could skip a Monday watering, it just depends on their soil. I’m no plant expert at all and I’m still amazed that it’s been almost a year since I’ve been a plant mom!

6. Make bed and prep for shower

One thing I cannot go without doing is to make my bed. It’s a necessity for me, honestly. There’s just something about a made bed that just makes your room look put together. It’s also helpful when you’re struggling to feel productive in your mornings! Once my bed is made, I like to gather all the products I need for the shower, and then I head to get cleaned up for the day.

7. Shower, skincare, and get dressed

We’re down to the last few steps of my morning routine! Once I finish showering, then I like to get into my morning skincare routine that I’m working on. I can’t believe I’m finally developing a skincare routine! If you’d like to see my Spring skincare routine, then let me know in the comments! After everything is done, I finally get dressed for the day. Most days I choose to wear leggings and a T-shirt, but sometimes I decide to get dressed just so I can feel good and more into my girl boss mode. I highly recommend it!

8. Time to get work done

Finally, I’m ready to head into my office and get a little bit of work done for the day! Usually, by this time it’s not morning anymore, but I want to work on getting into my office a little bit earlier. I also end up making a second cup of coffee by this time, but I’m trying to cut my coffee consumption down to only one cup a day (pray for me ya’ll).

It’s not perfect (is any morning routine perfect?), but that’s my routine! I still want to work on adding in a workout and also waking up earlier. I’ve been trying to work on waking up around 6 AM…and failing. However, I refuse to give up!

Make sure you guys let me know in the comments if you’d like to see the morning skincare routine I’ve formed as well as provide any tips for me that I asked for throughout the post!

What’s a must-have in your morning routine?

Comments

  1. That’s a great morning routine and mine is literally the same minus the “water the plants” moment because I simply don’t have a green thumb, lol!

    • I didn’t think I did either and I’m still very shocked my plants are still alive lol. I won’t lie though, I would still rather have fake plants and I thought I was doing something by getting real plants because initially they’re cheaper than buying fake plants. However, this is actually not true overall lol. It’s still really cool seeing when a new leaf grows on them though!

  2. This morning routine is the bomb! You get so much done so early.. I am the same!!! I have been stretching and drinking water first thing when I wake up to help flush out unwanted toxins.

I wish I had a green thumb, no plan survives around me. It’s truly depressing lol.

    Thanks for sharing your routine.

    • I try to drink some water in the morning, but there’s just something about it that I just need something with more taste lol. Girl, I’m shook my plants are even still alive honestly, let alone growing new leaves! Thanks for reading and commenting ♥

    • Thank you love! It’s a struggle sometimes to get up and do because I just want to lay in bed all day lol, but I feel so good when I get through the whole routine. Thanks for reading and commenting ♥

  3. If only I could hit snooze, but my “alarm clock” is my toddler body slamming me when she wants to show me something cute on her shows. Thankfully she’s able to turn on her tablet and watch her shows herself, at least lol!

Time efficiency is a huge part in my routines because my OCD prefers it. I’ve thought of doing my morning cleaning the night before to “save time” but that’s not promise my husband won’t mess it all up by the time I get up so… I’ve been holding off on that one lol.

One must have for me would be opening up my Zienna planner on my iPad! It’s where my daily/weekly to-do list, blog idea’s and gratitude journal all live! The best part is getting to design those pages for the day — it really helps me get in the creative mood.

    • Maybe one day someone will create some way to snooze toddlers lol! Yea I know I would be so annoyed if I woke up to a messed up kitchen when I JUST cleaned it the night before. I’ve never heard of the Zienna planner before, but it kind of sounds like how I use Notion. That’s definitely going to help give you that creative kick for sure having something that you look forward to every morning!

    • I’m glad that you enjoyed reading! Your mental health is everything, and what you put in your mind first thing in the morning really can make or break your day. I think a mental health moment should be part of everyone’s routine. Thank you for reading and commenting! ♥
