My First Interview Experience!

Hello guys, happy Friday! I just want to say that this year is bringing rollercoasters and whirlwinds into my life I swear, but it’s also bringing in blessings. I graduated this year and now I’ve done something that I didn’t think I’d ever be doing. My mom and I were given an opportunity last Friday (exactly a week ago today) to be interviewed for a new segment called “Line by Line” in a show called Epic Urban TV Show. I’ve never done anything like this before, so I thought I’d tell you guys a little bit about my experience and what it was like.

The Location

The interview was scheduled to take place downtown in Macon, Georgia. Despite not living too far from Macon, I’ve never really visited it, especially downtown. It was in this cute coffee shop called Taste and See Coffee Shop and Gallery. It had paintings all over and I believe you could purchase them as well if you’d like. While I was there, I ordered a turkey sandwich and a white mocha blended coffee. Both were very delicious and I highly recommend if you ever decide to go there. In the coffee shop, there was a little secluded area that’s usually booked out for events or meetings. This is where the interview took place. The workers there were so nice and even gave us our own pot of coffee for ourselves. If I’m ever back in the city, then I’d go back for sure.

The Interview

If you guys keep up with my blog posts, then you would have read one of the recent posts I did where I shared facts about me that you wouldn’t know. One of those facts was actually that I do not like being recorded. I hate it with everything in me, which is why I’m surprised that I didn’t back out and went through with this. This was a huge opportunity so there was no way I could let my insecurities get in the way. Surprisingly, I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be. The interviewer was a woman named Stacy and she was so sweet and nice. If was a lot more nervous, she would’ve gotten that right out of me! I thought there was going to be a huge audience, but luckily there were only two other people there, who were also getting interviewed. The set up was very casual and there weren’t any huge cameras or anything like that. It was a very subtle setting, which I’m very glad for my first experience. I wasn’t sure what to expect or if I was going to be asked an abundance of questions like I’ve seen on different talk shows. Luckily, I was just asked about my blog and where I see myself taking my blog in the future, which is an easy question for me. The interview was very quick and afterward, we did some shots outside.

This was such a great experience and amazing opportunity! Who knows what will be next. Maybe I’ll be interviewed on the news for my local news station. The possibilities are endless!

  1. Oh my god, girl! I’m so proud of you right now, that took a lot of courage to do and you did very very well! Love the outfit and hair/makeup too. Pat yourself on the back OR go and do something nice for yourself. Seriously. I wish I had emoji’s on my laptop….Hearts and clapping hands, lol.
