Last Minute D.I.Y. Halloween Costumes

Oh sh*t it’s halloween and the stores are all out of good costumes! Well, don’t you worry, I know there are plenty of procrastinators out there who are not properly prepared for the festivities of Halloween so I got you covered with some D.I.Y. costumes that you can make up today and be prepared to wear tonight.

1. Pink Shirt Girl Emoji

So this has to be one of the easiest and quickest ones to do. Just get a pink shirt and you’re good to go. You may need to have your hand up in the position for people to tell what you are, but I mean it works…right? Something I’d suggest if you want to go a little bit further is maybe printing out the face of the emoji and putting it on a stick like a mask. That might make it a little easier for people to tell what you are.

2. Mini Mouse Costume

This costume takes a few more items but still simple. All you need essentially is a black shirt, some black felt, minnie ears, and a skirt. Minnie ears might not be the easiest to find on the day of Halloween, but if you can quickly D.I.Y. those then I’d do that. You can also find a red tutu/skirt or again make one yourself. There are some easy tutorials up on youtube on making your own little tutu.

3. Holy Guacamole

This one is definitely a more silly one I’d say, but creative! Just get a green shirt, print out some pictures of avocados to paste on, and get some angel wings and a halo. If you’re unable to get the angel wings or just don’t want to spend the money, then you can simply be an avocado or just plain guacamole.

4. Brawny Man Costume

Another very simple costume. Just find yourself a red plaid shirt and boom…done! You might want to bring a roll of  Brawny with you because otherwise, your costume might be a little hard to guess.

5. Glow In The Dark Stick Person

I have never seen this before, so this is definitely one of the more creative/fun D.I.Y.’s I think. Just get a black leotard or black shirt and pants, a bunch of glue sticks, and some tape. I’m sure you’ll be the talk of the Halloween party!

6. Cat/ kitten

Cat

One of the most common costumes is a cat. All you need is a pair of ears (and a tail if you’d like) and a black eyeliner pencil if you want to do a basic cat look and you’ll look purrfect!

7. Thing 1 and Thing 2

thing 1and2

This is a great one for friends who procrastinate together. You can do this costume in many ways. You can possibly find costumes in stores, but if you have no luck then you can easily D.I.Y. this costume. The first way is to just get two red shirts and print out the thing 1 and thing 2 symbols. Paste them on and you’re done! You can pair them with any bottoms. Another way is to get some red onesie pajamas and do the same thing with pasting the thing 1 and thing 2 symbols on them and out the door you go! Wigs are optional if you have time to search in stores.

8. Skeleton

This one just requires a white and black T-shirt, some scissors, and if you’d like some Halloween makeup. Get creative and you have your costume!

9. Elderly

old people

With the help of Walmart and some pillows, you can easily turn 70 for halloween. To be a granny, you can just get a long nightgown and give yourself a big booty by stuffing it with a pillow. You can also add some rollers if you’d like. And to turn yourself into a grandpa, just simply grab some pants, a shirt, some suspenders if you’d like, and a pillow to stuff for your belly. If you’re able to find wigs or canes then those a nice touches to add.

10. 50 Shades of Grey

I kept seeing this one so I had to mention it. Yes, this is very corny, but I mean its simple right? Just take a bunch of paint swatches from any store or stores that have them and get to gluing/ taping. I found some really creative designs people did using these, so if you’re one that can get creative in a short time span then I’d try and be a little creative with it. If not, then you can just slap em on your shirt like this guy.

There you have it, costumes for all my late planners out there. Have fun and Happy Halloween!
