Hello loves! I can’t lie and say this doesn’t feel a little weird to be back blogging after my long break, because it does, but it’s a good kind of weird. I know going on a month’s break might not seem that long but it’s a long time for someone whose gone on a two-week break at the most prior.
As you can see, things have changed up a little bit. If you’re new here, then you probably have no idea what I’m talking about, but I’ve changed up my blog theme. I think it looks so amazing and I hope you all are loving it as well! Another change that you may already know of if you’re subscribed to my newsletter is that I am changing my posting schedule. Instead of posting three times a week, I will be posting only two times a week…Monday’s and Friday’s. I’m doing this to hopefully lessen the load on myself and also give my readers more time to read the previous blog post before another new one is posted. For right now, this can be considered a trial period just to see how my numbers do with me posting less and more importantly to see if I like the change. Once I officially decide that this new schedule is final, I will be sure to update you guys.
Alright, now it’s time to get into these monthly updates! Because I missed out on July and August, I will be doing both as well as sharing what my goals are for September. August will be done a little bit differently, but first, let’s get to July’s goals and which ones I accomplished!
Make more connections. Though I could always work a lot more on making connections in the community, I’m pretty proud of the connections I’ve made thus far. A lot has been going on and it’s become hard just to keep up with talking to childhood friends daily, but having and keeping connections are important to me. I’m grateful for the people I’ve connected with and I’m excited to make more connections with other content creators such as myself!
Wake up around 6:30-6:40 AM. I can’t lie to you guys, I think I flopped more times than I succeeded when working on this goal, but I did have some successes nonetheless! I don’t think the problem is having to wake up early but really having to go to bed early so that the energy is there to wake up early. I still have some work to do, but I’m proud of my successes thus far!
As I said earlier, August is different because I didn’t necessarily make any goals besides what I planned to do during my break from blogging. Unfortunately, I have been dealing with a few mental health issues, which has caused this break to not be used the way I originally intended. Regardless, I was still able to get some things done and I’m going to list those accomplishments as part of my August monthly update!
- Tweaked logo
- Changed blog theme
- Figured out new blog posting times
- Created and released fall freebies
- Upgraded newsletter design
The only things that I did not get done was do a new photoshoot and bulk create content (which is being worked on as we speak). Despite those things, I still accomplished a lot and all while still making sure to put out new podcast episodes. I’m pretty proud of things I was able to check off my list and I’m excited about all of the new changes!
Now, it’s finally time to see what my goals are for September!
- Pitch to at least one(1) brand
- Do a new photoshoot (maybe two)
- Reach 800 plays on my podcast
- Start meditating
- Write in journal nightly
