January 2023 Monthly Update: A New Year, A New Age, A New Start

Happy Black History Month!

I must say, it feels as if the month hit me out of nowhere, but we’ve made it here into February! Not only is this a new year and now a new month, but I’ve also just recently turned twenty-eight. I have so many goals that I plan to accomplish this year as well as between now and thirty, but for now, let’s dive into the goals I made and accomplished in January!

Do a photoshoot. I didn’t do more than one photo shoot like I wanted, but I am proud of myself for getting it done. I’m even more proud of myself because I’m the one that took the photos! My friend usually takes my pictures with her DSLR camera, however, I waited a little too late to ask her. So, I got a little set up together and took my birthday photos. If you’d like to see the photos I took, you can check out my Instagram!

Practice morning prayer. I still have to work on doing this every single morning, but it’s all about baby steps. One of my goals for this year is to become closer to God because I’ve strayed away a little and this is the first step in doing so.

Do weekly self check ins every Sunday. Something I’ve been trying to do is check in with myself every week by writing down how I was feeling emotionally, mentally, physically, financially, and spiritually. I didn’t accomplish this every week in January, but I did do pretty well with it being the first time that I’m trying this out!

I’m proud of myself for accomplishing as much as I did in January! Now let’s check out the goals I have planned for this month.

  • Reach 2k plays on my podcast
  • Take new photos for Instagram
  • Practice promoting my work more
  • Gain 5 newsletter subscribers
  • Do a tech deep clean (someone please hold me accountable)
  • Pick out a book to start reading/plan out a reading schedule

Did you accomplish all of your goals for January? What goals do you have for this month? Let me know in the comments!
