We’ve made it through the first month of 2021, and what a month it has been! We’ve had unnecessary riots at the Capitol and swore in a new president and FIRST BLACK WOMAN VP!!
What a way to go into black history month..am I right?!
Having a black woman as a Vice President is so significant and shows little black girls that they really can be anything they want if they put their mind to it. I’m not a parent, but I know that a good parent instills those words in their child’s mind, and it can be hard to continue to believe it when you’re not seeing images of it yourself while growing up. Everyone has their opinion about Kamala, I’m not talking about that. All I’m talking about right now is that there’s more and more representation forming for little black girls everywhere, and that’s all that matters when it comes to that aspect.
Before I get into what I accomplished in January, I wanted to give an update that you won’t find on my list…I had my birthday! If you followed along with 5 Days of Deandra, then you probably already are aware of that. I’m still not sure how I feel about turning 26, but I do know that I want to make even bigger moves than I did at 25! Now, let’s check out these goals and what I’ve accomplished!
Produce daily sales for my eBook. Okay, so this one doesn’t actually count because I didn’t make daily sales, however, I did make a few sales and I’m proud of that. Not to give my goals away too early for next month, but I am hoping to get more sales in February! If you’d like to check out my eBook and purchase, you can do so here.
Grow a following on my mailing list. I still have a very long way to go with my mailing list, but because I didn’t make this specifically numeric, it still counts because I did get grow it just a tad. I’m looking forward to gaining a lot more subscribers to my list. If you’d like, you can sign up for my mailing list on my blog!
More selfcare. I am nowhere close to being where I need to with my selfcare, but I have bought a couple products in an attempt to form a morning skincare routine. I’ve been good at using these two products every morning on my face so far. Once I’ve really gotten it down with using these products consistently, I’ll try to add another product on or try and start a night skin routine as well.
Now let’s look at what goals I have for this month!
- Begin working on Season 4 of my podcast
- Make at least 6 sales on my eBook
- Figure out technical issues with my blog (like Google Analytics)
- Cont. working on self care
- minimize and finalize a solid morning routine
- Drink 5 (20oz) cups of water a day
What’s your goal for February? Lets help each other!

So many positive changes in 2021 already! It makes the last 4 years almost bearable. Almost. Kind of. Okay seriously, maybe not. But I’m so excited for these changes. Idc what anyone says, I loved Obama as president and breaking the stereotype that presidents can only be white! Having a now black female VP?! Truly shows that this country is moving on to even bigger and better possibilities!
Yea, definitely not lol 😂. But yes, it’s a slow change and movement, but we’re capable of turning into something better. Idk about the near future, but the far future might just have a chance for a big change!
