I Started A Consultation Service!

You read that right…I started a consultation service and it opened up today (cue cheering)! If you follow me on Instagram, Twitter, and/or Facebook, then you would have seen me talk about it a few times on there. If you don’t…first of all, let’s change that! I have the icons on my blog for you to click that will take you straight to everything, but everything is @theblackprincessdiaries except Twitter (@_BPDiaries_). If you don’t follow me on social media, then you probably have no clue what I’m talking about. Well, today I’ll be giving you a little background about it and if you’re someone who feels need this, then maybe after reading, you’ll feel encouraged to go for it!

What exactly is it?

I’m glad you asked! The name of my consultation service is called The Black Princess Blogger Consultations. I wanted to stick with The Black Princess brand, but also let it become its own thing from TBPD. It’s a service for people who want to begin blogging or people who have been blogging, but they are struggling a bit and end up starting over but they’re tired of it.

What made you start a consultation service?

So, I really love blogging and it’s something that honestly came to me randomly. Despite the fact, it ended up being my passion. I have had my struggles and doubts, and I still do sometimes. I’ll never lie about that. You won’t see posts from me saying how I made this much in a month, because I’m not there yet (heavy on the YET). However, I know what it’s like to start. I know the basics you need just for starting and getting a good foot in the door. I know all about being yourself and just writing about what you love. There’s so much information out there for free, but even with that fact, it can be overwhelming. Do you know how many blogs there are? You can Google exactly what you need help with, but then you have a ton of blogs to choose from. I know I personally can get overwhelmed which could even lead me to shut down altogether. Another thing is, some people just need help finding their blogger’s voice again. Maybe they lost it along the way or maybe even forgot why they started in the first place. I want to help with that. I’m no professional, but I listen. Sometimes you just need someone to listen and maybe give an opinion or two.

What does it all entail?

You get a 1 on 1 zoom call with me that lasts 50minutes, which by the way, I just want to add that I don’t particularly like video chatting. I’m shy, so I’m really taking a big step here (and so should you with finding your passion).

There is a questionnaire that you have to fill out after signing up. One of the questions asks you to provide three things that you need help with. You can’t sign up any sooner than 24 hours prior. This is so I can review your questions and have enough time to take notes and make sure I’m providing the best information possible. I want to make sure that we are able to cover everything within the 50minutes with still some time for any additional questions(if not, you can always email me).

Also, I’ll be checking up on you within a week or two just so I can see how you’re doing and if you’ve made any steps. This is solely on my own accord because I really do care about helping you guys out and if I failed at being of help, then I want to know that so I can know what I need to work on, what I need to educate myself on more, and if I should just quit altogether (ok, this one was a joke but let’s hope that’s not the case).

Is there a fee? If so, why?

Yes, there is. It costs $25 to schedule a consultation. I went back and forth on how much I wanted to charge because I still wanted to make sure that it was affordable for people who really need it.

It does take some time to make sure everything is together, so I did still want to make sure I received some form of compensation as well for that. If you prefer not to spend that, no worries at all! I have plenty of posts with different tips on here you can read for free. I do think that getting the exact information you want/need sent right to you can be bit more helpful and takes less time, but I wholeheartedly understand. Just do what you feel is best. I’m here to help, whether through a post or my consultation service!

That is all of the questions that I can think of you guys might have. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, just ask in the comments, or go to the contact form and send me an email. If you’d like to schedule with me, you can schedule a consultation here.

I’m hoping that this motivated you guys to either take the steps to start your blogging journey or start your own service/business/ etc if you’ve been debating on it. If you have something to give, then you should share it!

Happy Monday!

  1. Congrats on staring up your consultation service. I wish you the best on luck on your business venture. I know you’ll help a lot of bloggers with their blogging journey.

  2. Starting your own business is always a big step. I remember being nervous when I first started offering social media coaching, and I had been working as a social media and digital marketer for a while before that point. In fact, I would argue that getting started is the hardest step, so congratulations for taking it!

    • It definitely is! It’s funny because I don’t even necessarily consider this as my business but more like a fun side hustle because I have something I’m working on that’s a lot bigger, but it takes time, so while I’m working on that, I’m trying to put out smaller projects that I love. Regardless, big or small, it’s definitely nerve-racking to put something out because I just want to make sure I’m doing a good job and people are happy with the outcome. I’m proud of myself for sure for going through with it. Thank you so much for your support! ♥
