Diary Entry #37: Trying Something New

Dear diary,

I recently talked about how something needs to change in my June monthly update post. I’ve been thinking about changing things up for a little while, and it’s still on my mind. I just hate being so repetitive and I feel like my followers get tired after a while too. When I think of routines, I love a solid morning routine, but when it comes to things that I do throughout the day…including how I post on socials or even on my blog…if things get TOO repetitive then I get a little bored.

I’ve also been feeling as if I’m just not growing and I know part of that has been due to the non-elevation in what I’m doing and also just being too tired and drained to interact much lately these past few weeks on social media. It’s as if I assumed that because I finally found a career path that motivated me, the energy that anxiety/ social anxiety/depression drains from me would just…remain. I did somewhat assume that and it was a very bad assumption, but a hopeful one nonetheless. I just need a content creator who has that type of energy to take multiple photos AND record videos AND edit in the time span of a day or two to just spread some of that my way.

With that being said, I may be trying something new. Though this is an actual post, this is a more nonchalant writing of what’s in my mind, and what’s in my mind currently is that I may be cutting back on my posting times for my blog. Instead of three days a week, I may start to only post two days a week. This would give me a bit more of a breather and more time to actually work on promoting. I’m also thinking about switching up how I’m posting on my Instagram. Again, this is unofficial, but an official statement will be made when/if I choose that route. I just hope that whatever I choose to do, my readers will take the change more positively than negatively.

Here’s to possibly trying something new!

Comments

  1. I aim for posting 3x a week but I’m finding that I either don’t or if I do it’s just to get SOMETHING up and it really shouldn’t feel that way!

Finding the time to do EVERYTHING expected out of blogging AND live our lives is such a balance challenge!

I’m still trying to find mine!

    • Omg it’s a huge challenge! You definitely shouldn’t post just because you feel you have to get something up. That never leads to quality posts. Maybe you should think about changing up your posting schedule as well and see how it goes. It won’t hurt and if you find out that you don’t like it, then you can go back to 3x a week. This whole full-time content creator/ entrepreneur thing really is about trial and error and I’m definitely discovering that I have some more trials to get through than I thought.

  2. Do whatever you think you need to do and your followers will understand! It is hard to balance it all, for sure. I try to post once a week, but when I can’t…I don’t try not to worry about it. Your mental health and well-being are way more important. Hugs!

    • Thank you! Being consistent is just really important to me, so I would never want to get to a place where I don’t get a post up on its scheduled day. It’s definitely hard to balance it all and as I have more ventures in mind, it’s going to get even harder. I just need to really buckle down and figure it all out ASAP, but I’m so appreciative for you all being here through this process ♥

  3. Great words of advice! To continue to grow we all must try something new! I’ve embarked on my own journey of self-discovery and regret not a single moment of stepping outside the box I’d trapped myself inside. Very inspiring post!

    • I’m so proud of you for doing that love! It can take a lot to take that step and you did it…good job!
