Frigid winters can cause your skin to dry out terribly. So here are just a few tips to help stay moisturized during winter to keep your skin from suffering (and to refrain from being as ashy as possible).
1.Exfoliate. It’s important to exfoliate to help take away dryness and flakiness, but make sure not to over exfoliate. It’s especially important for darker skin tones because it could cause more dryness and do more harm than good.
2.Moisturizing body wash. Another thing you can do bathing wise is using a moisturizing body wash. Bathing can sometimes dry out your skin once you get out, so using something to trap that moisture will be helpful.
3.Use a good face moisturizer. Keeping your face moisturized is also verrryy important. Your face is one of the body parts that is always being exposed to the cold, so you have to keep it protected. It’s important to get a nice hydrating moisturizing cream and sometimes you might have to adjust your skincare routine a bit for winter conditions. Maybe try more moisturizing face masks as well.
4.Keep your chapstick on hand. Yes, lips are included too, because the last thing you want is chapped lips. You can also use a moisturizing lip scrub.
5. Keep your body moisturized. Use a good moisturizer when moisturizing your body. You can use shea butter, cocoa butter, cocoa butter lotion like Nivea lotion, etc. There are so many options, you just have to find what’s good for you.
Happy holidays and stay moisturized!
