There is nothing better than smelling all the delicious smells that fill your nose during the holidays. Those smells are usually a combination of cookies, cakes, and yes…festive drinks!
If you follow me on Instagram then you’d know that I love a good cup of coffee, but during the holidays I love to give my coffee a little seasonal flavor. I enjoy drinking a delicious holiday drink, whether it involves coffee like a white chocolate mocha or it’s solo like a delicious cup of eggnog! Although I’m an avid Starbucks lover and gold card member, one thing the pandemic taught me was to learn how to make my own coffee at home. I won’t become a barista anytime soon, but the easy drinks are always fun to try (and delicious too).
In honor of the holiday season, I wanted to share some holiday drinks that you can make at home without needing a ton of ingredients. Most of these drinks simply involve one or two syrups, espresso or strong roast coffee, milk, and optional extras for a little more razzle dazzle!

1. Hot Cocoa
Hot cocoa is such an old-time favorite during the holidays and will continue to remain a timeless classic. It’s very simple because all you need is a packet of cocoa mix and milk. If you choose to make it from scratch, it’s still very easy and you can find plenty of recipes online. Lastly, if you choose to get a little fancy, you can add marshmallows on top! If you’re not a big fan of chocolate, there’s also white chocolate mix to make hot white chocolate as well!
2. White Chocolate Mocha
A white chocolate mocha combines two of my favorite things: coffee and white chocolate! It is so delicious and a quick way to make you feel like you just took a trip to Starbucks. The way that I’ve made this drink is by brewing a strong cup of dark roast coffee (I don’t have espresso), steaming together my hot white chocolate powder and milk, and pouring the powder/milk mixture over the coffee. It’s as simple as that! This recipe shows you two very simple ways to make it if you don’t have the powder or want to go a little bit more of a homemade route.
3. Eggnog Latte
Eggnog is my favorite drink to have during the holidays. I’m always rushing to get it once the season starts because it’s a must to have in my household. I loved to grab an eggnog latte from Starbucks when it was on the menu, but unfortunately, I believe they no longer sell it. However, I decided that I would try to make it at home and discovered that it was super easy to do so! The concept is similar to the white chocolate mocha. All you need to do is brew your coffee or espresso, mix and steam the eggnog and milk together, and pour it over the coffee or espresso. Of course, don’t forget to add the whipped cream on top! If you’d like to give it a try, I followed this eggnog latte recipe to make mine. I would also suggest trying it iced as well!
4. Caramel Brulee Latte
The caramel brulee latte has to be one of, if not my favorite, holiday drinks from Starbucks. Whether hot or iced, it tastes amazing in either form and will leave you wanting more. Well, now you can have more for a much cheaper price! The name may make it sound complicated, but it’s far from that. You simply need your espresso or coffee, milk, caramel sauce, vanilla syrup, and whipped cream. I have yet to make this at home, but I will be doing so soon and with this quick and easy recipe!
5. Iced Toasted White Mocha
Who says you can’t have iced drinks in the winter!? This iced toasted white mocha takes the white chocolate mocha to the next level! Again, another drink that may sound fancy and complicated but is pretty simple to make at home. For this festive drink you’ll need white chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, espresso or coffee, milk, whipped cream, and red sanding sugar as well as sugar pearls for decoration. To make it even less of a hassle, you can skip the sanding sugar and sugar pearls. As I said, the recipe is very easy and you need to do is fill a glass with ice, put in your syrups, pour in the espresso or coffee, add your milk, and stir! As always, don’t forget to add the whipped cream and the sanding sugar/sugar pearls if you choose to do so! Follow this easy iced toasted white mocha recipe is you’d like!
These drinks are all delicious and make for a great pairing with a delicious treat! With these easy recipes, you may find yourself saving a lot more money while enjoying your favorite holiday drinks at home.
Which one of these would you try if not all of them? Do you have a favorite easy holiday drink that you like to make at home?
I have a stovetop hot chocolate recipe on my blog if you’re interested! 🙂
That sounds amazing!
