It’s the winter (pretty much) and the cold is taking no mercy on black hair. As black people, we always need to make sure our hair is moisturized and well taken care of, but during the winter it’s even more crucial. The cold will be ready to destroy and dry out our hair in an instant. Which is why it’s important to take care of your hair!
There are different ways to make sure your hair makes it through the harsh winter. The first way, of course, is to make sure your hair stays moisturized. Whether wearing it straight or showing those curls, your hair will need some type of moisturizing. Some ways to keep your hair moisturized are just using some type of oil or oil spray daily such as coconut oil, argan oil, etc. There are TONS of oils out there so it may be confusing on which one is best for you. Check out this hair oil guide to figure out what’s best for your hair! Another way to moisturize is to deep condition. Developing a consistent deep conditioning routine will help ensure your hair is nice and moisturized. You can also make your own mixture to moisturize your hair as well.
Another way to take care of your hair during the winter is to wear wigs! Now, don’t be like me and completely neglect your hair while it’s in wigs. I am terrible, but you still have to moisturize your hair here and there. But, if you’re lazy like me, wigs are the best way to protect your hair during the winter. Your hair is covered and the harsh cold won’t be able to get to it.
How do you like to take care of your hair during the winter? Comment and let me know.
Happy Holidays and stay moisturized!
