We are in spring and I’m loving it, even though I’ve been inside still most of my days. There is just something about it that just feels…right. Because I’ve been feeling so good these past few days due to the spring weather, I decided that today I would share what I love most about spring. As you read, maybe you’ll find similar or new reasons to love spring too!
The Hotter Months Begin
I know people who are just not fans of the hotter months, but I love it. I’m not a fan of the cold at all unless it involves the air conditioner. I prefer my weather to be nice and warm. With that being said, I’m not saying that I want to feel like I’m melting on a daily basis. However, I just prefer a nice warm day over freezing to death.
We Get Longer Sunny Days
The one thing I think I hate more than freezing in the winter is feeling like it’s midnight at 6 PM. I love and cherish that extra hour of sleep, but I will take losing an hour for the sun to be out longer any day! When you have more daylight, you just feel as if you have more time to get work done. Longer hours of daylight are also heaven-sent for people like me who create content. I’m also someone who doesn’t like to drive at night or just being out alone at night in general, so knowing I have more time to be out and I could get home before the sun goes down makes me so happy.
As someone who loves to wear a good short skirt and show off my legs, I get so excited when it’s time to put away all of the warm clothing. I think that spring clothes are top tier and there are just so many articles of clothing for spring that I feel cute in versus clothing for fall and winter.
There Are More Fun Activities Available
I know that we’re mostly indoors these days, but you still can’t deny the fact that there are just more fun activities to do once spring hits. My favorite activity is to go swimming! I could stay in the water ALL DAY! There are also different activities such as going to water parks, having picnics, skating, etc. The possibilities are endless when you have beautiful sunny days ahead.
I Feel Much Happier
I think a lot of people can relate to me with this one, especially those who suffer from seasonal depression. When it gets so dark and as early as it does in the winter, it’s like a gloomy shadow is casting over me. I feel like I have to rush to get work done, I often don’t feel like doing work, and it’s just a depressing time for me. When spring comes and the time changes, it’s like a breath of fresh air! There is something in me that switches all of a sudden. I feel more creative, I’m enjoying my days more, and I’m just more happy overall!
Frozen Foods Taste Better
I’m someone who can eat ice cream, fraps, and more cold items during the winter. The weather doesn’t phase me, however, there’s nothing like having something cold after a hot day. The food hits just a little bit different. My favorite thing to eat in the spring and summer is shaved iced! If you have never had shaved ice, you are missing out. It’s so delicious and like a taste of heaved when you get the right flavor combination. There is a shaved iced truck that comes during the season and they continue to take my money. Should I not go as often as I do? Probably. What do I say about that?
Can’t stop. Won’t stop.
There Are So Many Pretty Flowers
I’m not a fan of all the pollen that comes with spring, but you can’t deny the beauty behind the pollen. There are so many beautiful flowers that begin to bloom. I wish that I was more of an outdoors person(I don’t like pollen, bugs, or bees) because I know I miss out on the chance to really appreciate the beauty that nature brings. Despite my dislikes, you can’t help but want to stop and smell the flowers (with allergy medicine on standby of course).
It’s Brings A Chance For A Fresh Start
Lastly, spring just screams “fresh start” to me. I think that’s why we have spring cleaning. You get a chance to declutter and get rid of the old things that no longer serve you. This doesn’t just apply to cleaning your space, but also habits and people. Of course, you don’t have to wait until spring to do this, but it just sets the mood to do so.
There are so many reasons to love spring! I shared my reasons, but I would love to hear what do you love most about spring. Do we both share the same reasons, or do you have a reason that I didn’t list? Comment and let’s chat!
