5 Activities To Do Indoors

These posts are getting really popular to make due to the time we’re in at the moment, so I decided to hop on myself. Why not join the bandwagon in helping everyone (including myself) not go crazy in the house!? Sometimes it can be hard to find things to do, especially when you feel like you’ve done it all, but I’m here to hopefully help add a few more suggestions to your list. Check out these five activities below that you can do indoors!

1. Read

I know everyone’s not a reader or likes to read, but it can be interesting. All you have to do is find a genre you’re into. There are so many genre categories it’s insane! There are self-help books, drama, manga, fiction, nonfiction, science, etc. So many categories! How can you not find something you like?

I know some people might think that they will have to buy books, but you don’t! There are free places to get books! I know one place is Wattpad. If anyone else has a place they get their books for free that doesn’t involve going out of the house, then please feel free to drop them in the comments! The thing about reading as well is, there are also multiple ways to read. You can read a physical copy of a book, read Ebooks, or not read but listen to readings of books! I know a lot of people who love to listen to recordings instead of physically reading.

2. Color

So I know you’re probably like “why in the world would I color??” Coloring can be so fun and peaceful! If you didn’t know, there are adult coloring books out there and different kinds of them. I have two adult coloring books (that I need to work on using more myself) and they are completely different from each other. What I mean is, one book is this really beautiful book with intricate lines and shapes that form into beautiful animals. It even lets you add your own drawings as well, and then there’s my other one that’s funny and is literally a coloring book of curse words that you can color!

There’s such a variety out there and you can get one that fits your personality or the mood you’re in as well. You can get adult coloring books from Amazon or order from Barnes and Noble or just anywhere I’m sure you get art supplies from or books from.

3. Learn Something New

It’s never too late to learn something new, and what’s a better time than now? I wasn’t specific and instead, I said “something” because there are so many things you can learn…and right in the comfort of your own home! You can learn a language, different makeup looks, how to play an instrument, you can teach yourself to dance, etc.

Think of something you’ve always wanted to do but felt like there wasn’t enough time to do or learn. Now is your time to do it! Now is your time to give it a go and see what you’re made of. Who knows, maybe by the time this quarantine is over, you’ll be able to add a new skill to your pocket and you can say that you accomplished something.

4. Get Fit

If you have been wanting to workout and get fit or healthy but have felt like you didn’t have the time, then right now is the perfect time for you to do so! With gyms being closed, fitness programs and small businesses are taking full advantage of helping out by providing free workout routines/videos. There are also plenty of videos on Youtube you can use and websites as well. All you have to do is Google, figure out what works for you, and get dedicated!

5. Play Games

I think games are really what’s going to keep us all sane during this time we have to be indoors. There are so many different types of games out there to play. There are board games, video games, games on your phone, and they all bring us together. There are also other games like pool! I know not everyone has their own pool table in the house, but that’s why you go to Absolute Billiard Services located in the metro Atlanta area! They have a variety of new and used pool tables Atlanta for you to choose from and make an addition to your family’s game room, and if you don’t know how to set up a pool whatsoever, don’t worry because they even provide installation services.

Let’s say, you and your family don’t pay pool much, but you already have a pool table. Well, they will also break down and move your table for you if you want to create more space or just put it away until you decide you want to use it again. How awesome is that!? So, whether you’re playing pool, video games, or even games like hide-and-seek, they are a great way to have fun indoors and can bring you closer to your family as well.

I hope that these activities are able to help you have fun and enjoy being indoors more, and maybe even help you think of your own creative things to do indoors. What’s something you like to do indoors? I’d love to know! Drop some suggestions in the comments and give me some more ideas!

  1. I appreciate your optimism! I like to write creatively indoors. I wrote a few poems this weekend for the first time since 2017. I’m still indecisive about what book I will finish reading. My sister wants me to play Uno. Maybe I’ll make her teach me 😂

    • I’m trying to stay as optimistic as I can! I’ve been trying to get back into poetry writing myself. I miss doing poetry posts on here. I’ve only played Uno maybe like 3 or 4 times in my life lol. I swear the rules are different every time. Well I guess there’s no better time to learn than right now!

  2. These are all such fantastic suggestions! I know the world may seem pretty dire right now, but if you’re forced to stay home, you might as well be productive and have fun with it! I love the idea of learning something new- it reminds me that I have Duolingo on my phone AND an app that teaches you to read music. I should definitely make use of that data and learn some new skills while I have the time! And I’m always down for reading, but I’m glad you suggested it to people. Sometimes we forget about fun activities that are right under our noses! 🙂

Thank you for bringing some positive and fun ideas during this tough time! It’s much appreciated and needed <3

    • I used to have duolingo and I never used it lol. Maybe I’ll download it again. I also have a spanish book from college as well. It’s a great time to expand yourself! I’m glad I could bring some fun and positive light into this darkness ♥
