The holidays are here and people are not only wanting but needing to come together with their friends to celebrate and feel something other than worry and stress. Unfortunately, it’s not too easy to do so at this time, but there are ways to still celebrate with your friends and remain safe. Below I’ve listed four ways for you guys to do so!

Celebrate Virtually
Of course, the safest way to celebrate with your friends is to come together virtually. You guys can all video chat together to laugh and enjoy the day. You can even make themes for the event. I think a fun idea for Christmas is to have a secret Santa where you guys send each other presents and open them while on video chat! Although it’s not in person, you can still have fun and enjoy the day.
Get Tested And/Or Self Isolate
If you really prefer to do something in person, which is understandable, then you and your friends can plan ahead and get tested while self-isolating until the results come back. If not getting tested, then you can just self-isolate for the recommended time of two weeks. Once that’s done, you can safely hang out together and enjoy a moment of no worries besides having a ton of fun!
Outdoor Celebration
Another way to safely celebrate the holidays with your friends is to celebrate outdoors. This one might not become the most favorable to those who live in the area where it gets extremely cold. However, if you live where it doesn’t get too cold in the fall and winter months, then doing something outside is a perfect idea.
Social Distance
Regardless of what you decide to do to celebrate, do your best to keep a decent distance. I know sometimes that can end up becoming a difficult task, but I think if you’re not sitting super close the entire time then it should be fine. Personally, I don’t like to sit so close regardless of who it is if I don’t have to, so that wouldn’t be a problem for me at all. I think after this year, a lot of people are like me as well.
I know how it feels to miss your friends and to just need some fun in your life. It’s been pretty much a year since I’ve done anything fun with my friends, so I get it. There’s no problem with making plans to hang with your friends. Remember to be safe and have fun!
Fab ideas! I love a good outdoor celebration. It’s a bit cold where I am in the UK but I’ve always loved wrapping up in loads of layers and spending time outdoors in the Winter 🙂

Thank you love! I’m not a winter person at all, so I would definitely be doing an indoor celebration! Thank you for reading and commenting ♥
Sigh. This COVID thing is really taxing my nerves with this holiday thing, especially because we are having these new surges right now. I like your idea of getting tested but I know my friends won’t do it, and one of them works, so she wouldn’t be able to isolate, either. I think my son and I might end up just spending the holidays alone, instead of also getting to see our friends. Those are good ideas, though! Especially the testing and isolation. I hope that will help others who want to see friends or family.
I know what you mean. It’s so annoying and I’m over it all. I hate that you’re spending it alone, but at least you do have your son and you’re not completely by yourself! My mom and her husband are going to quarantine for two weeks so they can drive down and spend Christmas with my grandparents and I, so I’m looking forward to being able to spend time with her and just forgetting about everything for a moment. Wishing you a happy holidays to you and your son!
