4 Ways To Celebrate Women’s Equality Day

Women’s Equality Day is August 26th and it’s important because it celebrates a big step towards gender equality. Though this is true, there are still many things we need to work on today in order for women to receive the same equality as our counterparts.

That said, the celebration of equality and women joining together is not only important but necessary. Not many may know how to celebrate or acknowledge the day in the best way, but I have four ways that you can do so, including possibly creating your own event for others to celebrate!

Purchase from a women-owned businesses

There is nothing like women supporting other women, and the best way to do so to honor Women’s Equality Day is to purchase from women-owned businesses! There are so many different women-owned businesses, from bigger ones to smaller ones, and those businesses are often not taken as seriously based on them being owned by women. Support your fellow women bosses, not just for Women’s Equality Day, but in your everyday life.

Educate yourself or others on the significance of the day

Education is one of the most precious things we have, and we have the tools to educate ourselves right in the palm of our hands. If you realize that you’re not as knowledgeable about Women’s Equality Day, you can celebrate the day simply by educating yourself more. On the flip side of that, if you’re educated but have people in your life who aren’t the most educated, you can celebrate the day by educating those around you.

Search for and attend local events

If you don’t have any plans for your Saturday, check out any local events that might be happening that day. Depending on where you live, there may be many big events or some smaller events happening. You could also be in a place where there’s barely any that are much harder to find. Despite the situation, everyone should join together for the celebration of women’s equality!

Host your own event

This one may be a little last minute, but if you don’t see any events happening that you love or any events at all, this could be your chance to host your own event! Because of how last minute this may be, you can put together a tester event with just your friends and family to see how well it turns out. If it’s something that was enjoyed by you as well as everyone who intended, this could turn into something new that becomes a regular event in your city!

Though we still have some work to do for women to receive the equality deserved, we have come so far. Women need to continue to join together, support each other, and continue to remind others of important days such as Women’s Equality Day because that is how we will get what we deserve!

How do you plan on celebrating Women’s Equality Day? Let me know in the comments!
