Today is Random Acts of Kindness day and this world reminds us constantly why this day is just as important as all the others. Though there is plenty of kindness worldwide, there’s still not enough.
So much has gone on these past few years alone, and there is more that continues to happen. From dealing with personal issues at home to dealing with the rising costs of produce in grocery stores, it should be no question why we all need to give each other more grace.
I don’t believe anyone would need to ask such a question, but just in case and in honor of random acts of kindness day, here are four reasons why it’s important to practice more kindness!

1. Life is unkind enough
As mentioned in the intro, life is pretty unkind on its own without the help of others. The price of products is skyrocketing, there are wars going on, brutality, and let’s not forget the struggles everyone is dealing with themselves personally. That is enough to tell you that kindness is needed without a reason to provide it to others. In a world where life isn’t providing grace and kindness, be the one to sprinkle a little in the world.
2. To make someone smile
The simple act of making someone smile is one that’s underrated and also one of the more simple ways to provide kindness. To some, worrying about others’ problems shouldn’t be of their concern, but helping someone feel better doesn’t have to be a therapy session. It’s important to help someone smile because you never know their thought process or what they plan to do. A simple compliment or a small nice act could be as detrimental as life or death.
3. You’ll receive what you give
Some may recall the phrase “you reap what you sow”, which is very true. In this life, you treat others the way you’d want to be treated. If you want others to treat you with kindness then you need to give out kindness. Keep in mind, you shouldn’t give out kindness just because you expect something back. Whatever you put out to others, the kind acts must be genuine and from the heart.
4. It costs zero dollars
Lastly, in a world where prices are rising, it still costs zero dollars to be kind! The word “free” is becoming rare, but that will never change when it comes to giving out kindness. Being a nice person will always be free and that gives you every reason to do so every single day.
There are plenty more reasons why we all should practice more kindness on a daily, but these are just a few honorable mentions. As I’ve said, kindness is free and there’s no special day needed to hand it out and make someone’s day.
What random act of kindness would you like to give or receive?
I think we should be kind just because. Number one rule in life: don’t be an asshole – we should all live by that.
I love that and totally agree!
All four of these reasons are a wonderful reminder that kindness matters and holds such important value in our lives that we must always strive to find it, use it and celebrate it. Thanks for this!
I completely agree! I’m glad you enjoyed my post and thank you for reading ♥
