4 Categories Of My Favorite Black Creators

Black History Month is slowly coming to an end (I know, it’s so sad), and of course I couldn’t let it end without shouting out some black creators. I decided to share some of my favorite black creators, but I split them up in their prospective categories of content that they create. The categories include: podcasts, bloggers, music artists, and youtubers. I hope that after reading this post, you will find some new black creators that will become favorites of your own!

Podcasts

Side Hustle Pro

Side Hustle Pro is hosted by Nicaila Matthews Okome. Her podcast is for the black women entrepreneurs out there, which is what really drawn in. She interviews other black women entrepreneurs that provide tips and strategies that can help you with your own business, no matter what stage or level you’re in.

The Michelle Obama podcast

The Michelle Obama Podcast is of course hosted by none other than the fabulous first lady we all know and love. When she made a podcast, I just knew I had to give a listen because…hello!? It’s MICHELLE OBAMA! Mrs. Obama brings some of the people she loves and knows the most to the show while they discuss important topics and even go back in time with stories about the past.

The Goal Standard Podcast

The Goal Standard Podcast is hosted by Lene Green. Lene keeps it real on her podcast when she interviews her guests. Other bosses share their struggles to success that keeps you hopeful about your own struggles you may currently be experiencing yourself in your own journey.

Sunset Provisions

Sunset Provisions is hosted by former lawyer turned entrepreneur Janelle Nicole. I follow Janelle on Instagram and have even had a session with her, so of course, I had to give her podcast a listen! Janelle is all about helping you get out of the job you hate and, instead, doing what you love. Her podcast is no different as she shares tips and lessons whether from her own experiences or through interviews with other entrepreneurs.

Therapy For Black Girls

Therapy for Black Girls is hosted by Dr. Joy Harden, who’s a licensed therapist in Atlanta. Her podcast is like taking a mini therapy session (but never to be replaced for an actual session). While discussing mental health and personal development, she makes sure that we have the tools to make the best decisions that helps us grow and get through this crazy world we’re living in.

Slay Girl Slay

Slay Girl, Slay is hosted by Ashley leggs and, honestly, I’m obsessed! Her podcast is all about empowering women (girl power!). I love how real and relatable she is while giving advice and tips that you need in your life. Listening to Ashley is like having a conversation with your bestfriend!

Bloggers

Sabria Sparrow

Sabria is the self-love blogger that you need in your life. She provides tips that you need from ways to show up for yourself to getting through quarantine, and even tips for healthy relationships. Her blog is a must-read for personal growth!

Racquel Coral

Racquel is a lifestyle blogger who is here to give you life! She focuses on various topics from body positivity to just being who you are freely and unapologetically. She’s all real in her blog and her personality. If you don’t know your worth or believe in yourself, don’t worry, you will.

Rebekah Charles

One read of Rebekah’s blog and you’d swear she was your own personal therapist. This could also have something to do with her having Degrees in Psychology (yes queen!). Rebekah’s blog is all about mental health and wellness, and she’s most certainly good at it. The detail and tips she provides makes you want to take some notes. I’m always leaving with some knowledge and it’s free of charge (but you’re welcome to tip her a coffee).

Dasia Pollard

Sticking with the niche of mental health, Dasia is also a blogger who is all about mental health and lifestyle. Her posts will help guide you on improving your mental health and I love that! She’s even come out with an ebook guide to help you battle your anxiety. Being someone who struggles with anxiety, the tips in there were so helpful and encouraging. I also must admit, I’m a sucker for a good aesthetic-looking blog and her blog will definitely make you stay, but her posts will keep you sucked in!

Seriah Sargenton

One thing you won’t be lacking in this post is a list of mental health and wellness bloggers! Seriah is a wellness blogger and she helps teach women how to live happier. Her photo alone proves she’s perfect for the job, but if you need more convincing, then I suggest going to her blog (actually, just go anyways). If you’re looking to improve your self-love and self-care habits or just need a good affirmation, then she’s your woman!

Angela Louise

Angela is geeky and proud, and I love her for it! Her blog is all about lifestyle, personal development, wellness, and just overall fun posts for the fellow fun geek! I love the variety of posts she provides from food to tips to thoughts about her own personal experiences, she has a little bit of something for everyone.

De’ Shilee Dobson

De’Shilee is a beauty and fashion blogger and her posts are everything you need to stay in touch with the beauty world. You can learn about the latest beauty tips, fashions, and tricks all on her blog. You’ll feel fabulous just from reading alone!

YouTubers

Josh and Isi

Honestly, I’m truly obsessed with Josh and Isi. They are such a great example of a young black couple who are truly in love and committed to each other. For me, what inspires me most about them is their work ethic. The work they put in is just astounding to me. I’m inspired every time I watch their videos because I want to develop their work ethic level myself. If you watch them, I promise that you won’t be able to turn them off. You can also check out their individual channels as well!

Azlia Williams

Azlia is Youtuber I recently found during the pandemic. At the young age of 19 years old, she has me trying to work even harder to get on her level! She’s proof that age doesn’t determine how successful you become. What I love the most about her is how she’s completely herself. I’m here for completely authentic personalities, and she doesn’t care, she’ll be herself whether you like it or not!

Kalia

Kalia is new to the YouTube scene, and I would be wrong if I didn’t add in that she’s also my bestfriend! I’m so proud of her for starting her channel, and she’s already coming out with videos that are absolute bangers. My favorites, are her Shein hauls, being the Shein fanatic that I am. She calls her subscribers her sunflowers, and she’s growing and on her way to 100!

Jaelah Majette

Jaelah serves you some realness while giving face and body at the same time! If I had to describe her when it comes to her videos, I’d say that she just lives life. I am just obsessed with her, and her son is just the cutest little boy! She also has been open about her ADHD, and if you also deal with ADHD as well or just want some laughs, she’s the one to check out.

Bri Hall

Bri is so underrated to me and it’s so sad. Her creativity is OUT OF THIS WORLD! She is a true artist and leaves you wondering what can’t she do!? From the creativity in her videos to her actual art skills to even her music, she is the jack of all trades and deserves a million subscribers and more!

Tajanel Chinyere

I first discovered Tajanel through a virtual business bootcamp, and I saw her video skills, so it was necessary to check out her YouTube. The want to support another black woman creator is what brought me, but her videos are definitely what kept me! I love them and I love her relationship with God as well. She’s a mom and a wife as well, and she tackles it all so beautifully and like the boss that she is!

De’arra and Ken

If you don’t know who De’arra and ken are, then you must be new to Youtube! Seriously though, I started officially watching them about two years ago, and I haven’t gone back since. From the lavish trips they take to De’arra’s big personality and multiple outfit changes, I can’t help but keep up to see what craziness is going on next!

watch them here
Trinity and Steven

I just recently discovered Trinity and Steven of The Solid Family on Youtube and I instantly had to subscribe. I love how funny they are and their baby Eden is just so beautiful! If you love to watch family Youtube channels, then they are perfect and represent black love perfectly.

Erica Raquel

This is one creative queen that you need to see! The way she can work a sewing machine makes me wish that I knew how to sew my own clothes because she works it like magic. If you need some fashion designing inspo or just love to watch a black woman killing it, then she’s the one to watch!

Of course, these aren’t ALL of my favorites. That would probably end up becoming the longest post of history if I included every single one of my favorites. However, if you would like a part two, just let me know in the comments! Remember, It doesn’t have to be black history month to showcase black creators!

Do you have some favorites from this list?

The black audience needs to be given the respect they deserve, and our art needs to be given the respect it deserves.
