To have confidence is to have trust in your skills, values, and choices. Confidence comes from deep within yourself, and it’s knowing your strengths, your weaknesses, and still thinking positively about all of them. Self-confidence really does come from the ideas that you take in through the world that support a positive image of yourself. When you believe in yourself enough and have self-confidence, you’re going to feel affirmed, encouraged, and strengthened. If you don’t have that confidence, you may end up feeling low and down all the time…but it doesn’t have to be that way. Building your confidence takes some time, yes, but it’s worth it if you know you’re going to be able to feel good about yourself and feel peaceful within yourself. Taking the time to build up your confidence isn’t the easiest thing to do, especially if you don’t know how to do that.
Some people think confidence comes from material things like going shopping and wearing nice clothes. Others believe it comes from skin injectables and changing their faces to suit society’s aesthetic. But that’s not how it works. Confidence is something that you’re going to have to cultivate over time, and believing in yourself is the first step. So with that in mind, here are some tips to help you start building your confidence so that you can feel like a more well-rounded and healthier person.

Understand Why You Don’t Feel Confident In The First Place.
You need to find the root cause of low self-confidence because this will help you build up your positivity, self-confidence, and voice. A good place to begin is through self-reflection and journaling because you can start writing down the moments when you feel less than confident, and you can try to tally up where your feelings come from. Journaling out your reactions to help you create a plan for moving forward can help you get to that root cause.
Learn What Confidence Feels Like For You.
What does confidence feel like in your body? Start speaking up more at work, or start wearing the outfit you’ve always wanted to wear and note how it makes you feel about yourself. If you know that you can walk into the office with your head held high, you’re going to feel far better about yourself as you do it.
Learn How To Align With Yourself.
There is no more should. There is only what you know how to do and what you can do. Any of the ‘should’ things in life stem from familial or cultural expectations, but what are your own expectations of yourself? You have the power to reclaim what you want for yourself at any point in your life. The more that you make aligned decisions with your true self and your desires, the better.
Whether building confidence back that you lost or confidence you never had, it’s never easy to build it up. We all need that ounce of confidence in us when taking on this world and our daily lives. Building your confidence is going to take time, but it’s going to be so worth it in the end!

Great post! The most helpful tip is to figure out why we aren’t confident in the first place. As children, we know we can do anything without fear of judgment, so knowing where it all started is interesting.
