2023 Yearly Goals Check-In: It’s Time To Get On My Zoom!

As June comes to a close, it’s important to realize that this year is vastly speeding through! We are halfway through the year and recently, I’ve started doing check-ins halfway through the year to see where I am with my goals.

Doing this is not only a great way to celebrate what you’ve done so far, but it also helps remind you to “get on your Zoom”! If you’ve never heard of that phrase before, it’s from a trending TikTok sound that basically means to get up and get on your grind every single day (whatever that looks like for you). Doing these check-ins every year shows me what I haven’t started working on yet and what I need to make sure I finish.

With that said, let’s see how I did so far with my goals for 2023!

Post more on podcast Instagram. This goal still needs a lot more work (thank God I have six more months to do so), but I’m proud of myself for posting a little more than I usually do on this account. It’s very hard to keep up with all of my social media accounts, but I have faith that I’ll get back on track with ALL of them once I figure it all out (and get the energy).

Improve my DA score. I have to be honest, my DA score isn’t something that I check or keep up with often, but I did check it recently and my score is now at 24! The last time I checked my score, it was either in December or some time at the beginning of the year, and that score was at around 19 or 20. This is also without actively trying looking for ways to grow it and just doing things that I’m already aware of as a blogger. I’m excited to see where I am at the end of the year, especially when I begin working on things that will grow my DA score.

Learn basic words in ASL. I am so proud of myself for what I’ve learned so far in ASL! I still have a very long way to go, but my hope is that I’ll be able to say a few sentences by the end of the year!

Take time for friends and family more. I’ve been really struggling with this one, and that’s only because I’m struggling mentally. When you’re struggling mentally it’s hard to get ready or take time to be social, but I’ve forced myself out of the house a few times and I’m proud of that. It’s not often at all, but just the few times I have been out have been fun and I’m hoping to get to a place where I’m back doing this regularly.


Although I wish that I started on a few more goals, I’m proud of each goal I’ve managed to start working on so far. I don’t expect myself to have every single goal checked off at the end of the year (though it would be nice), but it’s great to check in and see how many goals I have left as well as celebrate what I’ve done thus far!
