Tips And Advice On Being A Plus Size Woman In The Summer

As we all know, if you live in the United States, it’s summer time and the heat has made sure to make its debut! I love the summer, but being a plus sized woman makes it a little more of a struggle. If you’re a big girl like me then keep reading for some advice!

This first piece of advice goes out to my confident big girls and the ones who aren’t the most confident like myself: LET IT ALL HANG OUT. Look, I don’t know about you, but I sure as hell am not going to risk passing out wearing full length clothing because some people may be uncomfortable with my body fat. It’s too hot for that. Don’t be afraid to wear crop tops, shorts, skirts, short sleeves, no sleeves, etc. I do understand if you’re not comfortable with it that it may be hard. Just this year I finally started wearing crop tops with jeans. That means this lower belly being exposed. Am I 100% careless about people’s thoughts on it? no, but I don’t care as much as I used too. It takes time so take baby steps, but remember you can show skin and be free just as much as the next girl with a flat stomach.

The second piece of advice I have is to maybe pick up some baby powder or something to help with those real sweaty areas. Now I haven’t personally done this, but I’ve seen multiple times how baby powder is good for those crevices that can really sweat. That may sound a little gross, but you know it’s a struggle. The underboob sweat is a curse within itself. It also can help deal with that thigh sweat as well and I believe with thigh rubbing (don’t quote me on that one).

My last little tip for you ladies is to just enjoy your life and not care about what anybody says. This kind of goes with what I said in my first paragraph, but honey, step out and live! Show people how a plus sized woman slays summer. Rock your swimsuits, show that jiggle, and let them see that we will not hide. The sun is out and so are we!
