18 Things I’m Grateful For In 2021: Blogmas Day 19

One thing that I’ve been trying to work on this year is practicing gratitude a lot more. I have even bought journals with sections that allow you to write something down you’re grateful for daily. Even though practicing gratitude has been an important thing to do prior to these past two years, being in these predicaments have made it pertinent to how important it is to find things to be grateful for every single day.

This year has almost felt like 2020 jr. but there still have been many moments where I have personally been able to sit back and feel so grateful despite any challenges or adversaries. Below is my personal list of things, big or small, that I’ve been able to find gratitude in and I hope this list inspires you to create your own!

1. Health

I don’t personally know how my health is inside or what’s going on inside my body (that’s bad, I know) but I’m able to walk, I haven’t gotten sick, I’ve been able to stay safe from the you know what, and just for that…I’m so grateful.

2. Being alive

This doesn’t need a statement at all. Anyone who is alive right now should be grateful, even when there are moments you wish you weren’t (and I’ve had many of those moments).

3. Making it to 3 years of blogging

I can’t believe that I’ve made it to my 3rd year of blogging and I’m actually almost to my 4th year. When I first started blogging, I didn’t imagine I’d be where I am and I wouldn’t change a thing.

4. Making it to 26

This year I turned 26 and I still can’t believe it! It’s a blessing to say I’ve made it to another year, even though getting older is scary to me.

5. My supporters/blogger friends

One of the best things about starting this blogging journey is the friends I’ve been able to make along the way. They’ve been so helpful and one day I hope to meet some of them in the near future.

6. Being financially blessed when needed

I have to admit, taking the leap and making the decision to not go back to the theater has been the best decision I’ve made, but obviously a risky one. I knew it would be before the decision was made but I’ll just say that, despite being in limbo currently when it comes to finances, I’m constantly being blessed on time when needed and I can’t be anything but grateful for that.

7. Still having my family around

Not everyone can say they have their close family around, but I can. Whether because of the pandemic or they weren’t there in the first place, not everyone has their family around. I’m so blessed to still have them and I pray that’s never taken for granted.

8. The ability to purchase products for my new project

I’ve been mentioning my new project here and there. Let me just say, it’s not the cheapest thing to prepare for. I’ve had money saved up for it, so I’m grateful that I’ve been able to purchase the items I need.

9. Achieving my business goals

I’ve had some goals that I’ve achieved that I still can’t believe! One of those goals was to make it to 1k plays on my podcast. Even though it happened a month or two ago now, I’m still in disbelief but I’m excited to see what’s to come!

10. Friends that have been there for me

Good friends are hard to come by, but I’m grateful for the ones I have that have stuck around and been there for me through my darkest days.

11. Beautiful days

This one is very simple. If you can’t find anything else to be grateful for, but the day is beautiful, then you have something to be grateful for.

12. Making it through nominations for the Girl Boss Awards Gala

First, thank you to everyone who has put in your nomations in the categories I’m going for. I’m still amazed that I made both categories! This is also a reminder that voting for the finalists will begin on Christmas day so make sure to keep an eye out on my socials!

13. Being able to create my own morning routine

One of the best things about not working for someone else is the ability to create my own morning routine. This is something that some people dream of and just getting a taste of it instantly makes you not want to go back.

14. Having the ability to take the leap and not go back to my old job

It was actually in 2020 when I decided to not go back once things started opening back up, however, I know they would take me back instantly if needed. The thing that I’m really grateful for is not feeling like I need to (nor would I because I hated it). Taking the leap in itself is a blessing, but still being able to keep pushing towards my dreams without risking my mental health is an even bigger blessing.

15. Having a creative mind

As a creator, the best thing you can have is a mind that constantly comes up with new ideas. Obviously, I don’t always have ideas and I have moments where I’m stuck, but somehow my brain comes up with something despite the blockage. This also includes when searching for ideas, finding something, and quickly coming up with a way to make it unique to my style.

16. Working technology

I had a problem with my laptop about a month ago and that’s the worst thing to happen to a creative. It was down for almost a week, which I proceeded to lose my mind. Luckily, I got it back working again without needing to send it off anywhere or spending money that I don’t have on a new one. This reminded me to be forever grateful for working technology!

17. My first legit paid campaign

I’m still on a high from this one, especially since I just received the money from the campaign! I knew the day would come, but I didn’t know when that day would be. This may be my first, but it certainly won’t be my last.

18. Making it to the end of the year

Last, but absolutely not least, I’m grateful for making it to the end of the year. I know there are still a few weeks left, but I’m speaking it into existence. This year has been one crazy, confusing ride. Despite all of the adversaries, I’m here and that’s all that matters.

As I have said in the beginning, it’s important to practice gratitude daily. You don’t always have to search for the biggest things, sometimes just having fresh air is good enough. No matter what’s going on, always take the time to find the light within the storm.

What’s something that happened in 2021 that you’re grateful for?
