10 Side Hustles That’ll Help You Make Some Extra Cash!

Another day, another hustle!

Monday, I gave you guys some tips on ways you can fall into success. Last week, my friend told me that she knew some people who were looking for some side hustles and asked if I could make a post with some suggestions. Since I gave you guys on how to start a path of success, then why not also do a post about side hustles today?

We’re getting successful this week!

1. Become a content creator

When I say content creator, I mean YouTuber, blogger, podcaster, etc. I decided to just put it all under one umbrella since all of these are content creating, and to help not have super long posts two days in a row. Although these side hustles can get you a decent amount of money and can even turn into a lifelong career, they take time and a lot of effort. If you’re willing to put in the work, dedication, have patience, and love creating then I say starting one of these would be perfect for you.

2. Sell your items

Selling your unwanted items is like an oldie but a goodie side hustle. There are multiple ways to do it. Having a garage sale is one, but with Covid going on, that’s highly not recommended. The good news is, we have technology! There are so many different apps that allow you to sell your items. I’m sure that these apps have been a life saver as well for people who have been furloughed or even completely lost their jobs due to Covid. Another suggestion I have is to sell merchandise. Just like creating content, it does take time and it’ll take some spending money before making money. If you’re up for it and feel like you have some great merchandise to put out, then I would absolutely go for it!

3. Clean houses

I think people tend to look down on house cleaners (makes no sense by the way), but this is truly where the money is at. There is never a time where a house doesn’t need to be cleaned. Covid has made the cleaning service big because people would like their places as clean and wiped down as they possibly can. There are also homes where children are involved and both parents work, which makes it harder to keep the house clean. You can come in, create a spotless environment, and leave with some cash.

4. Grocery Shopping

You may have looked at this one wondering what in the world I’m talking about. Well, you can actually get paid by doing grocery shopping for others through apps such as Instacart (not sponsored). Although there are states and cities opening back up, the virus is still here, and there some high-risk people who still don’t feel safe to go out in a crowded grocery store. There are also just people in general who may not have the time to go shopping often themselves as they would like. This is where you can come in by doing the grocery shopping through the app of your choice and making some easy money by doing so.

5. Online surveys

Online surveys might be one of the most known ways and best ways if you have time and want to make money without having to do too much. There are plenty of websites and apps that you can choose from, which is great! They can become a little time consuming, but I suggest taking a couple of hours everyday to fill them out and you’ll be set!

6. Start consultations

Do you have something that you’re pretty good at or knowledgeable in? Then you might want to consider doing consultations to help others. When you start doing consultations you’re able to make your own schedule and price point. This is perfect to fit around the work schedule you may have currently. There are different websites like Calendly that you can use so people are able to schedule with you. I mentioned in my last post how I provide consultations for future and current bloggers. I help you with the beginning steps on how to start or restart your blog, which is perfect if you decide to go with side hustle #1. I use Calendly to schedule my appointments, and if you need help with starting your blog, then you can schedule a consultation with me.

7. Become a rideshare driver

Another great way to get money is to become a rideshare driver. This one’s a pretty simple explanation. Rideshare drivers are people who work for companies like Uber, Lyft, and more. Everybody has to get somewhere, but not everyone has their own form of transportation to get them there. I’m pretty sure you’re able to create your own schedule for the most part as well, which is a plus when working for a company as a side hustle.

8. Proofreading

If you’re pretty good with writing essays, then it’s your time to shine! School is in and students are writing papers for their teachers and professors. If you were/are always that student who barely had any mistakes and received good grades on your papers, then you can easily look through others and proofread for some cash. Although you may be using this as a quick side hustle, you never know where it could end up.

9. Begin tutoring

This is another good one to do while students are back in school. I know I absolutely could’ve used a tutor for one of my classes while I was in college. Unfortunately, there weren’t any available on campus for that class. If you’re really good at a subject, especially one that lacks in tutors, then try your hand at tutoring! I would test it out with someone I’m familiar with first to find tactics that work, just to be safe. You can tutor online (which currently is a safer) or do in person tutoring.

10. Become a virtual assistant

The last side hustle I have for you guys is to become a VA. This one is perfect if you have the personality and skills for it, and again, is another great pick for the times we’re living in currently. You might wonder exactly how you’re able to find someone who’s looking for a virtual assistant. You can search on apps like Instagram, ask around to see if anyone you know is looking for one or if they know someone, and you can also use websites like Fiverr. I did a blog post about Fiverr when I wrote about cheap finds for creatives. Fiverr is great for creatives or just anyone honestly who is looking for digital designers, social media managers, podcast editing, and so much more, including virtual assistants! If being a virtual assistant or anything else that’s on this list isn’t something that sounds appealing to you, then check out all the services offered by Fiverr. By doing that, you’re able to see if there’s something you’d like to do as a side hustle and you can sign up as a seller.

If you were curious as to what side hustles are out there for you to potentially take on, then I hope this list was helpful to point some out that you might like.

Have you ever tried out any of these side hustles? Did you like it? Let me know in the comments!

    • I think that would be a great idea! And if you want, you can do a video related to some of your blog posts like how people do lookbooks and things. If you do, let me know and I’ll be sure to subscribe!

  2. Great tips! I’m looking into more ways to me money atm because I need to pay the bills haha especially since I’ve went fully self employed which is a little nerve wracking tbh lol I have so much stuff that I need to sell on, it’s sitting here gathering dust when it could make me some coin. Thanks for sharing these.

    • Oh yea I am feeling that myself right now since I just quit my job. It definitely is a bit nerve wracking at times. Let’s start selling those clothes and making some cash!

  3. Love how realistic your tips are, well done. There are really plenty of things we can do for an income despite this dreadful pandemic. Also, I think it is super, how you wrote ‘We’re getting successful this week!’ It honestly inspired me, so thank you.

    • I absolutely wanted to make sure I kept the pandemic in mind because I know that can be a worry a lot of people have when it comes to trying to keep cash coming in during this time. I’m so happy that it inspired you! That’s always my aim so it means a lot knowing that I succeeded. Thanks for reading and commenting ♥

  4. I love these tips! I do online surveys when I have the time and they really help towards Christmas and little extras. They can be quite time consuming certainly, but they’re definitely worth doing if you find yourself with a few spare minutes each day! Thanks for sharing 🙂

    • I actually want to start doing surveys myself, so I plan on doing that soon and signing up on a few websites. Thanks for reading and commenting ♥

  5. These are some great ideas. I love that you included a mixture of fast cash options (like surveys) and those that will take longer to build but can definitely pay off. We all need a little extra cash from time to time, right? Especially right now with everything that has been happening. There are a lot of people taking pay cuts or even losing their job.

    • I know, it’s so sad seeing the financial hardships this virus has caused. I wanted to make sure I had a variety because some people might want one or the other, or they want to try a mixture of both. Thanks for reading and commenting ♥

  6. What a great list! I’ve cleaned houses in the past, but now I’m immune-compromised and have a concussion, so it’s really cut down on anything and everything I can do.. I wonder if it’s possible to get a side hustle where I could get paid for sleeping like the girl who plays the love interest in the hilarious movie Nuns on the Run – since I seem to be sleeping a lot these days,

    • I’m so sorry to hear that love. If you do find somewhere that’s paying people to sleep, let me know lol! I’m glad you loved my list and I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment! ♥
